I have already finished my simple garter stitch dishcloth made just for testing KnitPro Cubics. It's quite nice. From the first cast-on stitch to the last I-cord stitch my opinion...

My first square needles came to me a few days ago. After reading a little or less about the advantages of using them especially for people having some arthritis problems I decided to give them a try. Why not? Well, I don't have arthritis, I have arthrosis. But doesn't matter. What matters is a try.
I've bought the KnitPro Nova Cubics, 3,75mm fixed circulars. Personally, I prefer printed books. If I could I'd have a library at home. But as we keep moving, more practical solution are e-books. And if e-books, then Kindle. At least in my case, because you won't find them in a public library here.
Lately, because of my course and some design issues I was looking for some good knitting books. Unhappily for me most of them are in English. It means that sometimes I understand 100% and sometimes I need to call a dictionary for help. Mostly it doesn't solve the problem as knitting has its very specific language that dictionaries don't understand either. Nevertheless, it's kind of solution. What's interesting about Kindle, are the prices. I've marked some books that thought may be interesting for me, but haven't bought at the same moment. I kept checking prices for about a month for each one of them, daily. You'd be surprised. Most of the books I've marked for checking, that an average price is about 25 USD more or less, for at least one if not more days, are available for less than 4 USD. Not all of them, of course. There are some books that price doesn't change or changes so little that it doesn't make a difference for buyers. But for all the rest it may be a great deal anyway. Another thing is that sometimes those e-books with temporary discount disappear from Kindle. But still can be found on the Amazon website. Then, I's good to check just to be sure. It's been a long time since the last post and many things have changed. Well, one thing hasn't. I still love knitting 😉.
We've moved from one country to another, then moved again... I took a lettering course and started to paint porcelain mugs and some other things too. In the meantime, I've received an advertisement of any super mega hyper offer of Craftsy website membership and of course I couldn't reject it, as there are so many great knitting courses with one of the best knitting instructors that I know 😍. I have a secret hope that on next year they will make such super mega hyper offer too. For the truth, it was a milestone for me, those Craftsy courses. I've been knitting for a couple of years already, but wasn't confident enough to start designing. And it happened finally😍. I started my knitting design journey. I'm so happy with that! And one more thing to complete! I've started Knitting Instructor Certification Course at The Knitting Guild Association. I've been teaching knitting for a few years already, but wanted to organize myself better with that. And truly, it's a great experience for me. My tutor is very kind and helpful. The exercises help me a lot to anticipate my student's needs and to see things with their eyes. I know that good teacher doesn't only have a great knowledge, but also knows how to transfer it. And thanks to those exercises I have some new ideas that already started to work at 😊. One of them I'll post on my next post 😊. Stay tuned! |
